The genesis of traces back to 1988 when Mr. Johnston helped form a small Dallas/Fort Worth law firm that focused on the representation of insurance companies and the self-insureds. Except for a short stint at a larger firm, Mr. Johnston has been the principal attorney in his law practice ever since. The firm serves hundreds of clients including numerous insurance companies, self-insureds, managing general agents, commercial enterprises, and individuals.

At its beginning, the firm had one location. Today, the firm has four locations in Texas and one location in Oklahoma. currently has seven attorneys and a special counsel, with licenses to practice in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, and Illinois.
